*UPDATE* Oshawa City Solicitor Abducted
As a standoff continues at an auto repair shop in Whitby, details are starting to emerge as to who the man inside is.
The Toronto Star is reporting, former Oshawa City Councillor Robert Lutczyk was behind the alleged abduction of the city solicitor Monday night.
There are currently police cars parked outside of both homes of Lutczyk and Potts.
Durham Regional Police say Potts was abducted last night around 10 o'clock, and his wife called the Police when she noticed his car was in the driveway, but he was nowhere to be found.
Officers later said, Potts freed himself at around 2 o'clock and has since been at home, safe and sound.
Members of York Regional Police have now joined in the negotiations to try and end the standoff.
There's still no word on why the suspect would have wanted to abduct Potts in the first place.
