Opposition Outraged At Prorogation

Posted By: Katie Franzios · 10/16/2012 2:14:00 PM

Opposition leaders are anything but happy about the fact that the Premier announced he's proroguing the government.

NDP leader Andrea Horwath says she's prepared to stay at the legislature to work and calls the move "concerning."

She's urging residents to contact their local MPP to demand Queen's Park starts up its session again.

Both she and PC leader Tim Hudak are accusing Dalton McGuinty of proroguing government to further Liberal interests, noting it has nothing to so with getting work done as the Premier suggested.

Hudak says if McGuinty was out of ideas, he could have just taken some of the suggestions the Tories have given him.

It is okay for McGuinty to prorogue the Legislature, BUT it was not okay for Harper to prorogue the Federal House of Commons. Lefties are hypocrites, this is just another example.

@ed sweet no it's the other way around. if it was ok for Harper before to prorogue parliament when he wanted why can't McGuinty prorogue the provincial legislature when he wants?
