Parliament Hill Briefly Locked Down After Security Incident
Parliament Hill was locked down briefly on Thursday morning after explosives were discovered in a pickup truck that belonged to a contractor.
After the discovery was made, Parliament Hill and the House of Commons were immediately closed and the RCMP and security officers went into high alert.
Security later determined that the contractor did not pose a threat and was simply trying to get to work, although it isn't clear why he was carrying the explosives.
The contractor is said to be working on Parliament Hill, where there's lots of construction going on.
Parliament Hill has been re-opened.
