5.5 million dollars.

That's how much a 51 year old Vaughan man is accused of defrauding a company.

York Regional Police claim between 2003 and 2011, Gianni Ceolin allegedly set up a fake account while working at Checkpoint Systems Canada.

According to their website, that company deals with retail theft prevention.

Cops say the suspect allegedly funneled that money into the account, allegedly for his own personal use.

Ceolin is charged with one count of fraud over 5 thousand dollars and one count of theft over 5 thousand dollars.

Officers say the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to come forward.
