Gas Prices Dropping, But Not to 99 Cents
Will the price of gas drop to 99 cents a litre by the end of this year?
Don't count on it.
A report in the Toronto Star, out on Monday, quotes GasBuddy.com in suggesting gas could dip below the loonie mark by the time the snow flies.
But Dan McTeague with tomorrowsgaspricetoday.com says while we may see a little relief at the pumps, it's not going to be that drastic.
He says we could see drops of 8 cents a litre or so, mostly because demand is low and the supply is way up.
But McTeague says the price of fuel is way too volatile to predict prices that far in the future.
He says you can only really predict a week or so in advance with any sort of accuracy.
And McTeague points to the track record of GasBuddy.com, who said we'd be paying a dollar 70 for gas in the GTA this past summer.
"A number they missed by 50 cents or so" said the gas guru.
