UPDATE: Man With Sword Facing 5 Charges

A man arrested early Tuesday following a 14-hour standoff in Mississauga is facing five charges.

Peel police arrested a man about an hour after he jumped out of a second-storey window of a home near Britannia and Ninth Line.

Police say the standoff started around 11 a.m. Monday when a man, reportedly carrying a sword, refused to come out of the home.

27-year-old Neil Armstrong, of Mississauga is charged with two counts each of weapons dangerous and breach of probation, and one count of breach of
recognizance.

Armstrong, who was arrested without injury, remains in police custody in hospital after being remanded by way of a telephone bail hearing.
