NDP Continues To Push For Legislature Recall
At Queen's Park, the prorogation of the legislature continues to be felt, as the NDP start swinging because they can't discuss the contempt motion surrounding the Energy Minister and the Oakville and Missisauga Gas Plant cancellation documents.
Thursday was the last day under a speaker-imposed deadline that the committee looking into the matter could begin sitting.
If the committee was able to meet, according to NDP House Leader Gilles Bisson, they would be able to find out if more documents exist.
He thinks they do.
Bisson says many files point to other emails or documents but they aren't included in the 56,000 pages already released. He adds there are very few documenst from both the Energy Minister's and Premiers offices. He says residents still care about the issue, given the government wasted hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to buy seats.
