The Canadian Embassy in Washington was evacuated because of a suspicious package.

The evacuation order was given around 9:30 on Friday morning because of a letter that showed up in the mail room, with a white substance inside.

More than 325 people work at the embassy, and officials called the evacuation 'precautionary'.

The 'all clear' was given about an hour later.
