Christmas arrives at Nathan Phillips Square
It isn't even Halloween yet, but Christmas has already arrived at Toronto City Hall.
A massive evergreen went up in Nathan Phillips Square Saturday.
Usually, it takes a crew of 6 to get the 50-60ft tree into place. That process can take as long as 4 hours.
Now the tree will settle for a few days before the decorating starts. It will take 2 weeks to wind lights through the Christmas tree's huge branches & hang red, white & silver ornaments from it.
The tree will be plugged in November 17th at a party kicking off the Cavalcade of Lights.
This year's bash includes performances by Dragonette, Suzie McNeil, Sean Jones, Alyssa Reid, Circus Orange & DJ Mel Boogie. There will be fireworks too & a chance to pose with the Grey Cup.
