Province Not on Red Alert
Ontario isn't on Red Alert yet when it comes to the weather.
Community Safety Minister Madeleine Meilleur says they have been monitoring the weather in Ontario closely, and have been for the past three days.
Meilleur says, as it stands, rescue teams are on standby if anything happens overnight but she underlines Ontario won't see bad weather like they're experiencing on the U.S. coast.
However, Chief of Emergency Management Ontario Allison Stuart the most concerning aspect of all this is the wind since it will cause downed trees and powerlines.
Stuart explains when a red alert is called the province sends out messaging to residents telling them the situation is serious and lists things that need to be done to help with the situation.
Meilleur says the province will provide any help it can to cities and says they are ready to call on other provinces for reinforcements if needed.
