A woman found dead in a home on Maynard Avenue in the city's West end, has been identified as 59 year old Rita Adams.

Toronto Police were called to the home just before 1 o'clock on Monday, and found the woman dead, with obvious signs of trauma.

An autopsy has revealed Adams died of multiple stab wounds.

At this time, investigators believe the victim knew the suspect.

The victim was a spiritual advisor and police are wanting to speak with anyone who may have known her or visited her.
