Ford's Apology Accepted

Posted By: Katie Franzios · 10/30/2012 5:12:00 PM

The city's integrity commissioner has accepted Doug Ford's apology to Medical Officer of Health David McKeown and Chair of the Board of Health Councillor John Filion.

This all stems from comments made right here by Ford and his brother, Mayor Rob Ford, right here on Newstalk 1010 in April.

On 'The City', Councillor Ford asked why McKeown still has a job after spending $60,000 on a report that recommended lower speed limits to protect pedestrians and cyclists.

Mayor Ford started questioning McKeown's salary, calling it "an embarrassment". He then said he would try to straighten that out.

The integrity commissioner included the report on the apology in the city council agenda.

What a huge relief! Was so distraught by his comments that I haven't been able to sleep. I can rest easy now that the integrity commissioner has accepted his apology.

Still waiting for the integrity commissioner to rule on early halloween closing and the end run on councillor budgets. Hope I don't pass out while holding my breath

Ford's comments were a disgrace. And I doubt his apology was genuine. He should be ashamed of making them.... but I doubt it.
