Shoppers Drug Mart to Stop Playing Christmas Music

Posted By: Dave Bradley · 11/2/2012 5:16:00 PM

Ho Ho hold on one minute.

Shoppers Drug Mart has put an end to early Christmas Carols in their stores.

The Drug Store chain announced they'd temporarily stop playing Christmas music in its stores, because of customer complaints.

Shopper's started playing the music the day after Halloween in many if its stores.

The halt goes into effect on Friday at midnight, and there's no word on when it will be lifted.

nothing new. Retailers normally take down Halloween decorations on the 31st after close and put up Christmas decorations the next day. You'll see the malls ready for Christmas by this weekend.

Good call, Shoppers. I love Christmas but nothing burns me out faster than starting the season 2 months early.

I hope this isn't for the whole season though. If I find out there's no Christmas music all season because of customer complaints, I WILL NOT SHOP THERE. If they don't want to offend their customers by not playing Christmas music, they won't want to offend their customers by selling other Christmas paraphernalia which they make a s*** load of money on.

I stopped shopping at the Gap when they told employees they weren't allowed to wish customers a Merry Christmas. Shoppers might need to be the next store I refuse to spend my money at. And I spend a lot of money at Shoppers!
