Yorkdale Mall shoppers we're asked to leave the shopping centre a little before closing time after a fire broke out in a restaurant inside.

Fire crews responded to calls of a blaze inside the Milestones Restaurant just before 8:00 Friday night.

Crews were able to get the fire under control quickly.  It started in the kitchen area.

No injuries were reported, and all of the shoppers were evacuated from the mall as a precaution.
