An Oshawa man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of his father.

Police say 56-year-old Claudio Cara was found dead from stab wounds in a home, on Waverly Street North in the city last
February.

His daughter made a public appeal three weeks ago for anyone with information on the case to come forward.

Investigators arrested and charged Francesco ``Frank'' Cara, 28, yesterday.

Durham Police said the victim and his son shared that home in Oshawa.

There's no word on a motive.
