War Memorial Vandalised

Hours after Remembrance Day ceremonies took place, Toronto police are investigating an act of vandalism to a war memorial.

The Victory Peace war memorial in Coronation Park was defaced with the words "Canada will burn praise Allah" written on it. The message was written in all capital letters and it appears that black marker was used.

The City works department was called to the park at Lake Shore Blvd. and Strachan Avenue to clean it up.

Someone walking through the park noticed it and reported the incident.

The monument itself is bronze and was constructed in the mid-1990's.

Police don't have any suspects at the moment.

    Absolutely disgusting. But I get the feeling that it was NOT actually a Muslim who did it, but rather some idiot trying to cause trouble for the Canadian Muslim community at the expense of our veterans.

      @Townie I would like to agree with the first comment but after living in the middle east for several years I cannot. There is a strong hatred towards us infadels from the western world and there are far to many activists living outside of their muslim countries. This is a disgrace to our veterans. Maybe all the mindless followers should go back to where they came from.

    Personally it is not the vandalizing that gets to me, for a city this large you will get a drunkard a criminal a bad person a drug addict from here to there. That is actually very normal in cities this size. But there is a line that is slowly getting accepted in the way we get these very bad reports. The conviction that has happened today in a very terrible case of Peer Khairi, all reports from all sources found it very important for us to know that he is an immigrant from Afghanistan. So as a reader I start to wonder why the originality of Peer Khairi is of a greater value in this information when to today, I do not know the originality of Michael Rafferty. And no I have researched all news and all reports and there’s no where we are informed about Rafferty’s origins now that it has become crucial in crime reporting. The word Allah is an Arab word meaning God, so Catholics define God as Allah, Seventh day Adventists define God as Allah Catholics do the same as Protestants and so is Moslems. And they do that for in Arabic language to say God you say Allah. God is great-Allah Wahibalu. One can wonder why you stand out to make a case for “The Moslems”. Was this written by a Moslem? I have not seen any reports to the effect, and as always I stand very corrected. In fact you are pushing it to a worse stage of “reasoning for the larger Moslem Canadian community”. What does the Moslem Canadian community has to do with this crime? And I am simply asking as a very poorly informed Canadian.

      @EM Hello EM, you have a point Allah does mean God, but I have never seen a Christian strap on a belt of dynamite and run into a crowd saying praise god and all you infidels go to hell. I guess that I grew up with morals that we did not do that, we went to church on Sunday, we did not go to other countries and terrorize the nation, and most of all, we did not go to other countries and try and make them change their ways because I did not care for the way they did things. I am sorry but after everything that has happened in the last decade I just hope that either when coming to Canada you accept our beliefs or don't come at all.

    This is a very good reason why our government needs to go through the immigration records and get rid of the people that do not have the morals that Canada was founded on and the reason so many brave Canadians have died in wars. I say enforce Christian beliefs, and get rid of those who want to kill for no reason other then we do not believe the same as they do. My Canada wants peace and Jesus, if you do not believe in him, time to leave.

      @Guy When someone like Guy says things like, "My Canada wants peace and Jesus, if you do not believe in him, time to leave," it is time to keep a close watch on them, as they are just one step behind the jihadists.

      They have the freedom to speak their minds, but when their thoughts involve defining how everyone should think, we have the responsibility to keep a careful eye on them.

    It simply does not make sense to go into debate with people that are way un informed to know what their governments are doing out there. But I guess you are right we all should pack up and go for we have a problem with “Your beliefs” Just keep on pounding that “You should leave” and one of those days we will pack, and see how this society survives with only whites.

    The ignorance of some Canadians on international issues, simply baffles.

      I really think you misunderstood, I am talking about those that come to Canada and deface our monuments and try to completely change the Canadian lifestyle, trust me I have very good friends that have arrived in Canada recently and they enjoy the Canadian way of life. But if you come here and complain about our laws, try to impose a way of life that does not make sense to anybody here and protest our rights and freedoms, I would say Canada is not for you. But if you come here and are someone that loves the multicultural life and you truly believe in respecting our way of life, that is wonderful, and besides, I did not appreciate your racist comment, I do not discriminate on skin colour just on inappropriate actions in regards to Canadian monuments remembering great men and women that sacrificed their lives to protect people in other countries and preserve the Canadian lifestyle.

    It is no surprize that islamic immigrants would engage in such a cowardly act on remembrance day....We have become a nation of sheeple who have been forced by our government into a position of tolerance and inclusion under the guise of political correctness....Lets bring these woman and child murdering barbarians to Canada by the boat load and protect them to the full extent of our Charter of Rights and Freedoms...While our Christian beliefs and heritage are being stripped from us to accommodate these godless immigrants....Canadian children can no longer look at a Christmas tree in the public school system but muslims can pray in the cafeterias and run summer school programs that teach hate toward Jews....Why the fuck are we being forced to accept this rediculous bullshit...I wonder if I would be afforded the same treatment in a muslim country if I were to attempt to impose Christian beliefs on there society....I already know the answer to that and the answer is there is no tolerance for Christians in the middle east....Countries like Egypt allow muslims to burn churches killing men woman and children without prosecution by the muslim majority....Back to the original thread I hope the perpetrator of this heinous and cowardly act is caught and then summarily executed or better yet stoned to death by a group of veterans....The sad reality is he will be prosecuted to the full extent of our liberal legal system while ensuring his constitutional rights are protected!!!!

If what we have found in this country today is the life style we all must live by, then you must pack up and leave as well, for you are not respecting the life style you found in this country, and I can post you a whole whack of changes you have made. And you get the authority of being so pompous to the rest of society with “Our” life style. At what year did it become clocked in to remain “Your” life style permanently sir? Yea I have come into the country and from today I have changed it from The Natives life style to mine, so who ever shows up from today, this will remain the life style of this country.

      @EM Wow, you are like my ex-wife, there was a war memorial vandalized by someone that is in Canada and in the message there was a clear threat because someone came to Canada to kill people because they do not like the Canadian lifestyle, my grandfather, my father, my uncles have all went to war, if there was a war I could have gone to I would have also so the vandal has directly insulted me and my entire family. If you feel targeted by my words than I am thinking you agree with the vandal or maybe even you are the vandal, if I could come face to face with the vandal I would personally make sure he left Canada, even if he was born in Canada.

    Communication is about learning from each other not through threatening each other. We have failed as Africans for we threaten each other than listening to each other and understanding each other. I respect your family with its commitment to all these wars, but I also grew up in a continent and a country full of wars and I have never seen a single productive war. It is misery, it is death, it is blowing up people, it is raping children and women. As numbers of immigrants grow up in this country, Canadians like your self-need to realize that we are tired of wars and we are tired fighting and we are not going to encourage our children to stand up as you to state that if there is anyone to blow up I can go any time for my own grandfather and father were in war. We need a break in violence, we need a break in blood shed, and we need to spend a little quite time without seeing body parts, and that is the only thing we honestly hope to get in this country. And how? By cutting funding to defense and invest it into education. Guy in 2012 we yes can solve misunderstandings amongst ourselves peacefully. If buying weapons and fighting makes countries safer many would be havens today.

    Which takes me back to the original statement I made in this thread, it is very tough to remain in this thread for many of those discussing it are way uninformed on international issues let alone what our governments do out there. For you wonder, when did you know about Libya ever since Kaddafi died? No you do not for all news organizations do not report aftermath of our leaving. Kaddafi was a disaster by all standards but we never had a catastrophe as we have today in Libya. They’re dying as Monkeys and no one talks about it. When did you hear about Iraq last? Yes Saddam Hussein was disaster no debate about that but we never got 20 blown up this week end, 30 blown up this week end, 25 blown up this week end. People were in a dictatorial regime but alive.

    The suffering in Afghanistan is unbelievable, parents in Pakistan have a problem sending kids to schools for drones are blowing them up. Mosques are blown up by drones. Look there are parents in this country that have pulled their applications out of immigration, for they no longer need their children to show up here for they have died in a school that was blown up by a drone. And whenever that drone blows up an institution we go whoops whoops whoops whoops and whoops. What is this woman’s back ground? You do not know and you do not care for you only care about “Your life style”. Listen this is 2012 and there is internet for crying out loud, search what is happening out there, our forces have been in Afghanistan long enough, board a plane for summer vacation to Kabul, you will cringe. But also understand that as people immigrate from these countries they are not asking for too much they only need a break from violence, and that break also can allow them to speak up on the violence we have pumped out there for it exists. And look I have thought so hard before I made this writing for I know it annoys so many, and I know the responses I am going to get which will be pack up and go home, but there was a city called Sirte in Libya before we went to Libya, it was simply erased off earth. It is no longer there a whole city. And a woman stand up to express her disappointment during remembrance and you bleat “My life style” ?

    By the way personally I would have loved to hear from her more to know what she actually believes than thinking that going after her and shutting her up is the solution. Trust me we tried that in Africa and it simply doesn’t not work.

      Please do not take this the wrong way, the story is this, in your words you say they immigrate to get a break from violence, I have said several times, if they want to come to Canada and be a part of a peaceful multicultural society and realize that here our women do have rights and are free, we do eat pork, and for the majority we do respect others. You also state you are tired of wars, well "Canada will burn" doesn't sound peaceful to me. I am very sympathetic to people that are just fed up, I have a friend from Lebanon that told me so many nightmare stories that made me realize I would probably never go there. Well I want peace, I want to be able to visit places in my country and not see any threats against anyone in my country, that does include everyone.

    I do not think the problem is you, I think it is culture in this country that needs to change. We trust our leaders and we are very faith full to them, we listen to CBC and read Globe and Mail faithfully. And we depend on those two to make our stand to attack every one that talks. But as much as we trust those sources to be the only dependents to get information, there are very basic facts we have on our streets that we can use to reason as human beings. And here are some. When iddi Amin was in Uganda as a dictator, there were no Ugandans on Toronto streets, when he left power, today Toronto has almost five Uganda Canadian churches. Northern Uganda has been camped for almost 25 years, almost all women and men in Northern Uganda have been raped and it never happened when Amin was sin power. When Siadi Bare was a leader of Somalia all along, no single Canadian raised money to feed dying Somalis, they were all fade and there was never a Somali teen attacking ships off the Somalia cost, ever since Siadi Barre left power it remains a single country in the world with no leader and no government. Somalia today is the highest supplier of criminals in developed countries, ask Toronto ask The Twin cities of Minnesota. When Mobutu Sese Seko was dictator in Congo which is today The Democratic republic of Congo, you never saw a single Congolese in this city as an immigrant, yet today after his departure and death, there are more Congolese in this city than you have ever thought, the strikes you see on University Av in front of the American embassy are of those same Congolese. About 5 to 6 million are dead today, and every woman in Eastern DRC is raped. It never happened when Mubutu the dictator is in power. When Emperor Hile Selassie was in power there was no single Ethiopian dying of hunger today they are the daily joke of the day. When we removed Habyarimana out of power in Rwanda the Rwandese genocide started, there was never a genocide in Rwanda under Habyarimana’ s watch. Do you know the deaths that are in Liberia ever since Charles Taylor’ was forced out of power? Iraqis, Afghanistan’s and very soon Libyans are starting to flock our cities yet all of them have been set free from the dictators. Is removing dictators from this governments opening doors for the people to leave or after the dictators leave countries become unbearable?

    Guy I can go on and on for I care to read more than Globe And Mail. The numbers I am stating to you today can be verified by immigration, and organizations like World Food program. Here is a good one, if you go to Zimbabwe today even with the international embargo, every person is fade, but I can assure you that the moment Mugabe is thrown out of that government, we will start to see photographs of starving children. And the same is going to happen in Syria. Why are they not starving today when Mugabe and Assad are in power? And that is the argument I have for to me it is not who has what gun but what people live normal lives. When you actually look at Zimbabweans today they are very healthy people but they do not want any NGO into the country you want food you grow it. Because Amin was forced out of Uganda the population was changed from 6 million to 36 million, do you blame them? No OXFARM and WFP feed them for free. Why is it the people we have set free from the dictators that immigrate to these countries? And why is it them that stand up to protest when we try to recognize the two minutes of silence in recognition of the remembrance day? Is the removal of those dictators which makes them upset? Why don’t they immigrate to here before we remove the dictator, why is it after? It is very complex to hold this argument in a Canadian forum for Canadians are way un informed about it. For to you the importance of life is about a right to eat Pork. But when a woman stands up to protest a two minute silence on Remembrance day, and we dump on her with pack up and go back to your country, one wonders if Canadians understand the agony in that woman sitting in a situation she never created for herself but Canadians a part of its creation.

    Go to all these countries and return the dictators they had to office and see if you will have a single immigrant sitting in this snow. You simply have no clue !!!!!!

    I am going to respond only basing on Africa a continent I was born in. I know Africa as a back of my hand for I have travelled most of it. And I assure you that there is no single country in Africa that was created to depend on Western countries and donations. But I have travelled this massive land so well that I know it than some Canadians for unlike those that want me to pack and leave it is my country and I had to know what it is. This is a poor country and very tough to live in, I have seen senior citizens waking up at 4 in the morning in middle of winter to go and work for their retirement is simply not paying the bills. But I have seen 3 months old babies ferried out of an apartment at 4 am for they have to be at a baby sitter’s home, so that the mother goes to school or to work or the bills will not be paid. You do not enjoy being a child let alone being old for society will abandon you and you will honestly die. African countries by far and large have a fertile land, a year with each day with all season weather, rivers with fresh waters going 24 7. Ken I have never seen an African planting a Papaya tree, birds eat it and shit the seeds and a tree grows up. That is why there are no Papaya farms in Africa for they grow all over the place. Please explain to me why a Canadian poor as he is, gets a single dollar to donate to this continent? And you are donating it to what end? In all years that you have donated it, can you show me one country that has changed for better? And I need only one. Yea I know girls in Afghanistan go to school !!!!!!!

    When I post a writing as I did and you define it as a writing from a man hating Canada, it makes me wonder why I do not join those that see donating to Africa as a profession, for trust me the way I know the continent had I stood up and stated how we have that very serious need for food and money, you would have cut me a check of 10,000 as a true Canadian. But I see the larger danger into turning society into a bunch of beggars and I go after that. If you want to eat, work. And some of us will try so hard to reveal this part of explanation, as you Canadians go after us for you know the situation better through Globe and Mail and CBC. A people with not only money to donate but can buy me a ticket back too. You know, I think I should send an Email to Jerry Agar so that we start a fund raiser for those poor African kids. With this mentality I can see 200,00 dollars coming in and very fast just through CFRB.

    Simply unbelievable !!!!!

      But of course no one listens for we all are stupid punks that are failing to realize the Favour we got to immigrate into his country. And we need to learn to be appreciative and shut up for we are useless punks and criminals into this society. Do you know what Jerry Agar said at the discussion of those that protested on the remembrance day two minutes? The panel gave him a time to comment about that protest and he said there is nothing to say about it let us move on. We honestly do not matter in the larger picture. And your stand will remain so true until when this country I so adore downs its self into what United States is into after this election. United States is a very good country and I adore it with all my heart but somehow some where everyone become as smart as Jerry Agar who does not see himself lowering to a level of a stupid Afghanistan/Pakistan woman in pain.       You know you remind me a very close Canadian friend I have in Alberta that I wanted to raise awareness about Africa, we reached a point of flying on to the continent with him, and we just flipped a coin to go to Lesotho, I had never been in Lesotho so I also wanted to visit. We arrive there and he played this plastic Canadian smile of we are very good people to society, for that is what it is actually because there is no genuine man or woman, that claims to love an individual and refuses him to work for his food for he will donate it to his table. That is defined as hypocrisy for you will not be there tomorrow. Any way we arrive to the country and he cries these tears, which made him make some very serious commitments, I will make sure you get a water supply system in this town. And it was a very small town about 50 people. So by Canadian standards geez in African that is cheap to maintain. I sat in a hotel with him for 8 hours, and I told him that this is a bad idea for these people have been raised up fetching their water and we must leave them that way, he goes nope this is wrong we must fix it. He came back and bought a huge Deere/Ferguson pump and sent it to the town with two friends that agreed to sponsor their time, and in 2 months the generator was running with water supply in 6 comers of the little town. Now again this is a town of 50 people plus minus.

      This town has grown up to a very unbelievable growth for today it has almost 300 people with about 600 animals and what have you. Why? For a very good Canadian brought water in town we all must leave our locales and go to town where you get water free. He kept on pumping money into the town till today when I do not even think he can send the money to pay for hydro for the generator. It was shut down the punks stole the parts and there is no water any more. But these people are in town with their properties probably with lands at home some for now we have a Canadian that is paying for our good life, they have made babies and they can no longer go back to their lands. They’re going to improve their living by being punks and targeting white tourists for they have the money. And we all as Africans will be labeled in this forum as a people failing to develop when the entire world Is pumping money into us. Yes he is a part of the statistics, and for some reason I do not think he is isolated for the Canadian government under USAID, few years ago built a rail from no where to no where in Sudan. An immigrant stands up on remembrance day to say her word on a paper and we question why she does not go back, for we know it all and Jerry Agar sees no point in discussing the idiot. Why do Canadians only become intelligent when you ask them for money? One can very seriously ponder !!!!

      Any ways do not worry about it for it is bla bla bla bla bla
