Del Grande looks set for spot on Police Services Board
Scarborough councillor and City budget committee chair Mike Del Grande looks set to be placed on Toronto's Police Services Board.
This week, City Hall's Striking Committee nominated Del Grande as a candidate to replace outgoing Ward 41 councillor Chin Lee on the Board.
The move needs to be rubber stamped by City Council.
If that happens, Del Grande would not sit on the Police Services Board until the New Year.
That means he likely would not to sit in time to vote on Police Chief Bill Blair's request for a $21 million budget hike.
Del Grande, in his position city budget committee chair, recommended in August that the Police Services Board freeze their $933.8 million budget.
