Taxpayers coalition hands out report cards at city hall

The report cards come out at city hall today, at least those from the Toronto Taxpayers Coalition.

The group started the list last year, giving out grades based on how each councillor is helping cut costs and how the coalition thinks they are representing their wards.

This is a coalition that has been pro-subway and against LRTs, as well as against the bag ban.

The coalition has given councillors Cesar Palacio, Denzil Minnan-Wong and Doug Holyday an A+, while many of the left-leaning councillors were given an F.

The mayor got a B. The coalition says mayor Ford continues to move in the right direction with a lower-tax agenda, but he sometimes finds himself in controversies that distract from the important issues at hand.

    The thing that gets my attention the most from this list is not the grades of each councillor.....its the length of the list. When you see it here in its totality, the fact that we have this many councillors is absurd. They each have staff that costs money and they all are wasting time while they believe they are doing their jobs. Its no wonder thay can't get along.
