VIDEO: Mayor Rob Ford Tumbles at Grey Cup Event

Posted By: Suzette Francis · 11/21/2012 4:00:00 PM

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford had another fumble only this time it was on the field.

The mayor was at a media event to promote Sunday's Grey Cup match between the Argos and the Calgary Stampeders, when he tumbled in front of the cameras.

Ford was taking a snap on the artificial turf set up outside City Hall when he lost footing and fell.

Fortunately, Ford was not injured and laughed it off with everyone at the event.

This isn't the first time that he has lost his footing at a media event. Earlier this year at one of his Cut The Waist Challenge weigh-ins, he stumbled off the scale set up outside his office (see below).

This latest video has gone viral on websites around the world.

@aj Lighten up! It was the deciding touchdown for a final game, it's all in fun. Why don't you Ford haters give him a break. There are plenty of City Hall folk that I can't stand but I don't jump all over EVERYTHING, including their appearance like the hateful people that make fun of his weight etc ! David Miller thought he was a Robert Redford look-a-like and he was a dismal failure as a Mayor.

It is disgusting and shameful that the media has made this event into a Fat Mayor Ford issue. Talk about BULLYING - this is bullying in one of its true forms. Someonne tripping is one thing - I don't even see that as humour - but developing it into a "fat issue" is totally wrong! I guess sensitivity, empathy, care (for the person, not the position) and compassion cannot be legislated, They are usually characteristics of an emotionally healthy adult. Too bad most media does not rise to that level.

@Janet You are so right! These same people (Ford haters) are toxic when it comes to anything he does or says. They have no problem publicly making fun of his weight or mocking him at every turn, yet, I am sure they think of themselves as lefty, concerned citizens cut out of the same cloth as Adam Vaughan who is obsessed with belittling Rob Ford. Give your heads a shake Ford haters, you are mean, small people and the media should be ashamed for fanning it!

Rob Ford will likely go down in city history as a one-term mayor who fumbled in the communication department.
But, please stop howling derisively at the poor guy's unfortunately timed misfortune of stumbling in front of a camera.
