The province is announcing the expansion of its after-school programs hoping to get kids off the streets.
Newstalk 1010 has learned they will be expanded in Toronto's 13 priority neighbourhoods and to York, Peel, Durham and Halton regions.
The program is ecxpected to help out 21,000 kids, with a focus on what the province is calling safe and fun activities that centre on sports, healthy eating and generally pumping up their self esteem.
This is all part of the Youth Action Plan, which is centered on getting both guns and gangs off the streets, ensuring safer communities and neighbourhoods.
The plan was unveiled a month after the Danzig St. shooting which saw two people killed and 23 others injured.
