2 Hamilton police officers charged
2 Hamilton Police officers have found themselves on the other side of the law.
The force says they got a whiff of possible misconduct during a criminal investigation in June. It's alleged an officer falsified at least part of a search warrant.
During that investigation, it's alleged that another officer spilled confidential information to an unauthorized person.
Detective Constable Robert Hansen is charged with fabricating evidence & perjury. Hansen has been with Hamilton police for 12 years.
Detective Constable Craig Ruthowsky, a 14-year member of the force,
is charged with breach of trust & obstructing justice.
Hansen & Ruthowsky have been suspended with pay since June. They'll be in court next month.
