A cyclist hit by a van in a hit and run at Landsdowne and Davenport has died.

The collision happened before 7 o'clock Friday morning when the vehicle heading westbound on Davenport struck a 35 year old man crossing the street.

The man was rushed to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police are now looking for a Chrysler van believed to be from the model years 1996-2000 with significant damage to the front end.

Anyone who sees this vehicle is asked to call 911.
