Peel Police are investigating a murder, after a woman was found dead in a home in Brampton last Friday.

Cops say it was around 2 in the afternoon on November 16th, that 22 year old Marcieline Newland was found with obvious signs of trauma.

Officers say they aren't revealing the cause of death.

But Constable Thomas Ruttan with Peel Police says "There is no further threat of public safety as this investigation continues."

That being said, Ruttan wasn't releasing a suspect description, only saying they don't believe this was a random attack.

"I believe that that is safe to say."

Homicide detectives are working on the case and Ruttan says it's important to the investigation to keep some information back.
