Ontario Liberals triple membership
The Ontario Liberals have tripled their number of members thanks to the race to replace their leader, Dalton McGuinty.
When the premier announced he is stepping down, the party had up to 15,000 members.
By Friday night, which was the cut-off for new memberships, the party reports the seven leadership candidates turned in more than 27,000 forms.
The Liberals now have 45,000 members.
The Toronto Star reports that MPP Kathleen Wynne sold the most memberships of the seven candidates - 8,000 of them at $10 each.
