Smitherman on Ford Decision: 'Touchdown for Accountability'
They fought it out in the municipal election campaign and now Rob Ford's opponent - George Smitherman - is speaking out about the decision that sees the man who stole victory away from him removed from office.
Referencing mayor Rob Ford's love for football, Smitherman didn't hide his feeling about the court's decision calling it a "touchdown fro accountability".
When asked if that means Smitherman is planning another run for the city's top job, he underlines the only thing he's considering is a organizing a second parade - after the one to celebrate the Argos' Grey Cup victory - to celebrate the city's liberation.
He says only time will tell what's next for Toronto but maintains the residents who felt what he calls "a great discomfort" over the style of leadership in the city and its "reckless disregard for the law" will be happy justice has prevailed.
