Byford Wants To Know Why New Rockets Are Malfunctioning
They're brand-spanking new. The fleet of 70 rocket subways that have more space, air conditioning and a sleek design.
So far, Toronto has 27 of them in service, but there's one problem, they are consistently running late.
TTC Boss Andy Byford wants to get to the bottom of this, so he has arranged for an emergency meeting with Pierre Beaudoin on Friday. He's the CEO of Bombadier, which manufactures the trains.
Byford's recent report read, that the current performance of the rockets, is unacceptable.
Reportedly, the doors on the new rockets are malfunctioning which is leading to the delays.
They cost the city between $500-$600-million.
The train sets will all be in service by 2014.
