Team Owners & NHL Players to Meet
The N-H-L Players Association hasn't unveiled its roster yet, but star Sidney Crosby may be among six players taking part in the latest talks aimed at ending the 11-week-old lockout.
The Pittsburgh Penguins' captain has travelled to New York ahead of this afternoon's meeting between six owners and six players.
Among the owners due at the table will be Crosby's boss, Penguins' owner Ron Burkle, along with owners from N-H-L teams in Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary, Tampa and Boston.
It promises to be a unique setting, particularly with commissioner Gary Bettman and N-H-L-P-A executive director Donald Fehr (feer) on the sidelines.
Players have now missed four paycheques because of the lockout and the union's executive board voted last weekend to distribute a 10-thousand dollar stipend to each member.
