A lunchroom supervisor at a Toronto elementary school has been charged after police allege that five students were assaulted on school grounds during the lunch hour.

Police were called to Essex Public School at 50 Essex Street near Ossington and Dupont Thursday just after noon.

None of the children required medical attention and there's no word on how old they were, although the school has students from junior kindergarten to Grade 8.

34 year-old Kayla Martinez faces five counts of assault and had a court appearance scheduled for Friday.
