VIDEOS: Students Stage Walkout
Students at some Toronto area high schools are taking a stand in the teachers' dispute with the province.
With high school teachers set to begin their job action on Monday, a student trustee has organized walkouts to show their frustrations with the cancellation of their extra-curricular activities.
Earl Haig Secondary School student Kourosh Houshmand says the students aren't taking sides in the dispute and has called for the 2,300 students enrolled at the school to walkout of classes at 9:45 a.m.
Houshmand says activities like chess, music, knitting, sports groups and after-class tutoring will be included in the extra-curricular programs that will be cancelled.
Teachers at Earl Haig have delayed all first period tests so that students can participate in the protest.
