*UPDATE* Man Wanted in Hit & Run Crashes Into Police Cars
The man wanted in connection with running down three pedestrians last Friday in a stolen vehicle is now wanted for crashing into two police cars early Wednesday.
Toronto police say two officers spotted Steven Paul Brunswick shortly after 1:30 a.m., at a gas station in the Bathurst and Lawrence area.
When the officers tried to apprehend him, he allegedly drove into both police vehicles and fled the scene.
Police say he is driving a dark colored VW Golf that was damaged in the incident. They believe the car may be stolen.
Cops also say the vehicle is running stolen licence plates, of BLNB-571.
Police are asking anyone who sees him to call them and not to approach him because he is considered dangerous.
They are also asking him to turn himself in.
Brunswick is wanted for several charges, including theft of a vehicle, attempted murder and dangerous driving.
It was last Friday at around 1:30 p.m. when a suspect allegedly shoplifted several items from a Leaside Winners store before fleeing in a Mercedez-Benz, which police say was stolen earlier this month.
A short time later police saw the man in the stolen vehicle at Yonge St. and Broadway Ave. and tried to apprehend him. That’s when he allegedly drove the vehicle directly at the officer before jumping a curb and hitting a 55-year-old woman and two other pedestrians on the sidewalk. The woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police later found the car abandoned near Eglinton Ave and Avenue Rd.
