Halton Region public school teachers on strike
Another day, and another one-day walkout by public elementary teachers.
Halton Region schools are shut down on Wednesday, with almost 39-hundred teachers on strike. Their plan is to picket at their local school board office as well as the offices of two local MPP's.
40-thousand students are at home on Wednesday.
The Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario warns, this may not be the end of these walk outs. Union president Sam Hammond says another day of political protest could take place in the New Year, if the government tries to impose a contract on teachers. It could also take place on a school day.
By Friday, all teachers in the province's 31 public school boards will have walked off the job for a single day.
