Darwin's owner plans public support rally
A couple weeks ago, Darwin the monkey made headlines worldwide after he was found wandering the parking garage of an Ikea store in North York and very soon, his former owner will fight to get him back.
Yasmin Nakuda's lawsuit goes to court on Thursday.
She alleges that the Story Book Primate Sanctuary in Sunderland unlawfully detained her monkey.
She's also naming Toronto Animal Services in the lawsuit, claiming they had no right to take Darwin away from her that day. Nakuda alleges she was tricked into handing him over after being threatened with criminal charges by animal services.
On Wednesday, she will hold a public support rally in front of their North Region office on 1300 Sheppard Avenue West.
