Messy Winter Storm Heading Our Way
We could be in for some sloppy weather heading into the weekend prompting Environment Canada to issue a special weather statement.
The weather agency says a messy winter storm is tracking towards the GTA and southern Ontario Thursday and could cause problems on Friday.
Precipitation is expected to begin over most of the province during the day Thursday and may start briefly as snow or some freezing rain, but will then change
over to rain. The rain should change back to snow on Friday or Friday night before ending Saturday.
Some areas near the Ottawa Valley may see a prolonged period of snow before it changes over to rain. Freezing rain is also a possibility.
Regions from Haliburton to Renfrew and north to Algonquin could see mainly snow with this event. Snowfall warnings may be issued for these areas.
Driving conditions are expected to deteriorate beginning Thursday and motorists should be prepared for hazardous winter driving conditions as a result.
