CAA to the rescue, but you'll have to wait

Posted By: Siobhan Morris · 12/27/2012 11:03:00 AM

Whether your car has spun into a ditch or you haven't managed to get it out of the driveway yet---if you're looking for help from CAA, you could be twiddling your thumbs for awhile.

Wait times for service in the GTA late Thursday morning ranged from 45 minutes to an hour, over an hour in downtown Toronto.

By noon CAA had received 2500 calls for help in South-Central Ontario.

On the average snow storm day, CAA fields 5000 calls, 2500 for a typical winter's day.

Spokesperson Silvana Aceto says the timing of this snowfall in the middle of the Christmas holidays is part of why they're getting fewer calls.  But she says the requests for help are coming later as people sleep in.

CAA is asking all their customers to be patient as they respond to high priority calls first.  Aceto says that means anyone who might be exposed to the elements, as opposed to a car lodged in the driveway.
