Police have identified the boy who was killed in the hit and run accident on Hwy 401 Tuesday.

7-year-old Jacob Favila from Ajax died in hospital. He was in a minivan when the vehicle was rear-ended by a Hummer in the westbound lanes near Dixie Rd.

OPP says there were 8 people in the van, two adults and six children.

The boy who was killed was sitting in the back and police say it appears he was wearing a seatbelt.

The Hummer left the scene of the accident. Police later found the vehicle, but the driver is still missing.
