A man has been taken to hospital this morning after a shooting near Woodbine racetrack.

Police say the 27-year-old was walking near Rexdale Blvd and Queens Plate Dr when an unknown man approached him and shot him.

The victim's injuries are not considered life threatening.

Police do not have a suspect description at this time.
