A 49-year-old man has been killed after he walked away from an accident Hwy 401 in Newcastle.

OPP say the man's car drove into the ditch at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

The driver walked away from the scene and was later hit by a truck.

The truck driver had called police to let them know he had hit a pedestrian.

Meanwhile, south of Alliston, three people were killed in a single vehicle crash. OPP say the crash happened on Adjala Tecumseth Townline
