An aspiring doctor from Scarborough has been killed by a train in Bangladesh.
21-year-old old Jerin Mir was a student at the Medical College for Women & Hospital.
Jerin's uncle told the The Daily Star newspaper she'd come to Bangladesh last year, while her family stayed in Canada.
He says she was taking a walk with a friend near the Cantonment railway station in Dhaka when she was hit around 6:30pm Saturday.
Jerin was pronounced dead in hospital.
Police say they are speaking to her friend to find out exactly what happened.
