With the departure of Dr Andrew McCallum, the Provincial Government has named Dr Dan Cass the new Interim Chief Coroner of Ontario.

Cass will take over the role for 6 months, or until a permanent replacement can be found.

He's been with the Coroner's office since 2009, when he joined as a Regional Supervising Coroner and is currently the Deputy Chief Coroner - Investigations.

Before joining the Coroner's office, Cass spent a decade as the Chief of Emergency Medicine at St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto.
