Police have now arrested a fifth suspect after a home invasion and dramatic takedown.

At about 11 a.m., police received a call about a home invasion on Solway Ave near Keele St and Major MacKenzie Dr.

Police say five suspects took a man captive into a car and when officers arrived the suspects took off.

A police chase finally came to an end outside Sheridan Mall at Jane St and Wilson Ave.

When police stopped the suspect vehicle on Wilson Ave, two of the five suspects took off on foot. One of the men was quickly arrested, along with two others in the car. But one of the suspects ran into Sheridan Mall and disappeared.

The emergency task force was called in to search for the last suspect. During the search in the area of the mall, several schools were under hold and secure.

Police finally caught up with the suspect in an apartment building garbage dumpster several hours later.
