*UPDATE* 15-year-old killed in Regent Park shooting

Posted By: Siobhan Morris · 1/18/2013 10:16:00 PM

Toronto police have identified the 15-year-old who was shot to death in a Regent Park apartment Friday afternoon as Tyson Bailey.

Police say Bullets started to fly around 2pm at a Toronto Community Housing building on Whiteside Place, in the Dundas & River area.

The boy was shot 4 times.  He was rushed to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators say Bailey was a "Fine, young man" and that there was nothing to suggest this was gang related.

The victim had to be carried down the stairs from the 13th floor.  Residents of the building have called it's elevator "rickety".

Toronto Community Housing spokesperson Sarah Goldvine couldn't say if 603 Whiteside Place has a history of elevator issues, but says there weren't any issues Friday.

Goldvine understands that police held the building's elevator for EMS, but they didn't use it.  It isn't clear if a lack of space may be the reason paramedics took the stairs.

There's no word on suspects, but cops say all witnesses at the scene are co-operating.

There was a hold & secure at nearby Regent Park/ Duke of York Public School, but that was quickly lifted.

Residents of Regent Park say they are frustrated at this kind of violence in their neighbourhood, something they say is an almost daily occurrence.

Police are looking for two 'persons of interest' in the case.  The first described as a white man, tall and skinny, 25-30 years old with a pock-marked face.  The second described as a black man, shorter than the first man, also 25-30 years old.  He was also wearing a black jacket at the time.
