More fallout from Ornge scandal

There is more fallout from the Ornge scandal at Queen's Park.

The Toronto Star is reporting that the physician-in-chief of Mount Sinai hospital, Dr Tom Stewart received a consulting contract of $75,000 a year at Ornge but the embattled agency says it hasn't been able to confirm the work performed.

The report also says the additional payments were not disclosed on the provincial sunshine list that tracks how public dollars are spent.

At Mount Sinai, Dr Stewart earns $607,000 a year. The Star says over seven years, he was paid $436,000 by Ornge.

Stewart says Ornge got fair value, citing how he helped out on clinician recruitment, research development, and better critical-care system integration.

It exasperate me no end to read about ORNGE. First, as a taxpayer, the whole thing sounds like one vast network of fraud...one that puts people's lives at risk. But also because I did actually apply to a job at ORNGE, a job for which I was qualified (little did I know how little that mattered) and about which I never heard back. Mazza should be in jail and Smitherman should disappear into obscurity where he belongs.

Let's yell at the teachers a little more. Not only will this make McGuinty feel better, it will make the sting of this cost go away

@Berend Spoken like a true, union driven teacher or "supporter". Ornge is a fiasco, a corrupt fiasco, but it doesn't excuse the crap that the teachers and unions are forcing on us.
