Posted By: Justine Lewkowicz · 1/22/2013 5:27:00 AM

Police will run Operation Keep It Moving Toronto today.

Officers will be at the corner of York and Adelaide Sts at 7 a.m., keeping an eye on no-stopping zones, looking for traffic offences that slow down traffic.

Police are reminding drivers not to stop in zones that don't allow for it, especially during rush hour.

The operation will run between 7 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

most gridlock downtown is caused by pedestrians crossing after the hand has turned flashing red, blocking right turns and left turns to maybe 1 cars per light cycle. Police must start ticketing them.

Will they be giving tickets for those idiots who think their coffee or picking up their spouse is more important than the thousands of other road users?

As for the above comment, it is complete crap. Most gridlock is caused by vehicles stopping when they should be going and entering intersections when they know they will not be able to get out the other end.

Let's start enforcing all the laws 100% - vehicles, cyclysts and pedestrians and, in very short order, gridlock would be reduced by 150%.

@Bob Walker They don't do this type of 'operation' on a daily basis? Or does this mean they're just focusing on this instead of other law infractions.. I don't understand things anymore in my middle age.
