VIDEO: Wynne to Meet with Toronto Mayor
The province's incoming premier says she would like to meet with the Mayor of Toronto soon.
Kathleen Wynne says she and Rob Ford spoke at a business event on Monday night and they were trying to figure out the logistics of to meet either at Queen's Park or city hall.
Ford has not interacted much with Toronto's gay community for much of his time as mayor, but the openly gay Wynne underlined she didn't think her conversation with him was awkward.
She says transit will figure prominently in their discussion, calling it a huge priority for not only the GTA, but the entire province. She says it will help economic growth in the area.
Wynne underlines there need to be some other funding for transit, pointing out Metrolinx will be revealing different options to move forward.
She says it's not about whether or not the province will find a way to create a revenue stream, it's about which option they will choose.
