Beyonce says she did sing along with a pre-recorded track when she performed the national anthem on Inauguration Day.

The singer held a press conference in New Orleans ahead of her half-time performance at the Super Bowl.

She said she's a "perfectionist" and wanted her performance for President Obama to be a memorable one.

She says the weather, the delay and the lack of a proper sound check, were all factors in why she decided to sing along with a pre-recorded track.

When it comes to the Super Bowl and the halftime show, she told the audience of reporters, she's going to sing her heart out.
