Darwin Monkey Mom Has To Wait One More Day
An Ontario judge is to rule tomorrow where the so-called Ikea monkey will live while the trial to determine his
permanent custody is held.
The woman who refers to herself as the Ikea monkey's mom wants Darwin to live with her while the case is before the courts.
Yasmin Nakhuda argues that if Darwin is away from her for a long time it could be ``devastating'' to her bond with the little
primate.
Darwin was sent to a primate sanctuary last year after he was found hopping around an Ikea parking lot in Toronto in a little
shearling coat.
The Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary says Darwin should stay there and alleges Nakhuda ``strangled'' the monkey, hit him and didn't change his diapers for several days.
Nakhuda vehemently denies the allegations, which have not been proven in court.
