Body pulled from Quebec quarry landslide site

Posted By: Newstalk 1010 · 2/2/2013 3:25:00 PM

Rescue crews have recovered a man's body from a Quebec quarry, hit by a landslide this week.

Crews have been searching for 2 workers, a man & a woman, who went missing after their trucks were swept into a gravel pit dozens of metres deep on Tuesday.

The trucks were trapped in huge mounds of loose gravel at the bottom of the crater in L'Epiphanie, just outside Montreal.

Quebec provincial police say they'll keep looking until the 2nd body is found.

A 3rd worker whose vehicle also fell into the quarry was rescued by a police helicopter within hours of the collapse.

Rescue efforts have been complicated by bad weather & concerns about another possible landslide.
