Police Pursuit Ends in Brampton Crash

Posted By: Suzette Francis · 2/5/2013 9:05:00 AM

Two people have been arrested after a police pursuit on Highway 410 in Brampton ended in a crash.

The chase started around 7:30 a.m., Tuesday on the 410 near Williams Parkway when a vehicle failed to pull over for a traffic stop.

The vehicle was apparently clocked going at a speed of 140 km/hr.

The vehicle ended up colliding with another in the Dixie Road and Clarke Boulevard area, and was boxed in by OPP cruisers.

One of the suspects suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The intersection is closed for the investigation.

No word on charges. The province's Special Investigation Unit will likely be called in to investigate.

I am always taken back that the police put peoples life in danger, for the sake of chasing down cars..What did the people do in the other car to deserve a chase..and if it was going 140km ..that is not enough for a chase..what is our children were on their way to work, and all this ruckus was in their way, and they were hurt..

@Carol Ann You don't think that the police should chase down someone who is doing 140 in an area inhabited by other drivers and pedestrians? You are an idiot then. 140 km an hour would kill someone on impact in or out of a car. I certainly wouldn't want to be around a car that you were driving if you think the police have no business pursuing someone clocked at 140 km an hour. I know, I know, the police are always wrong. And yes, what if our childre were on their way to work or school and this moron was driving 140 km per hour. Give your head a shake!
