The major collision bureau in Peel region and the SIU are investigating a serious rollover Thursday morning in Mississauga.

Just before 1 o'clock, a car travelling southbound on Mississauga Road, went over a guardrail and came to a stop in an embankment on south of Dundas near Seven Oaks Drive.

There were two people inside the car. A man had to be extricated and was rushed to hospital in serious condtion but his injuries are said to be non-life threatening. The female passenger suffered only minor injuries.

The SIU is called in when civilians are injured during a police investigation, however Peel police have not commented on whether there may have been a chase before the collision occurred.

That area is closed off to traffic for the investigation.
