Two Arrested in Regent Park Shooting
Toronto police have arrested two people in connection with a shooting at an apartment building in Regent Park on Wednesday morning.
Police were called to 220 Oak Street at approximately 7 a.m. after a 45-year-old man was shot in his unit.
The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being shot twice in the chest.
Police were able to arrest two people after executing a search warrant at a home in the Adelaide Street and Parliament Street area on Thursday morning with the help of the ETF.
Melissa Rowe, 21, and Bento Sebastian, 23, both of Toronto, are facing a string of charges including attempted murder, aggravated assault and discharging a firearm to endanger a life.
Both are scheduled to make a court appearance on Thursday afternoon.
A third person, Samuel Elvira, 19, of Toronto, was arrested for unrelated matters.
Police say Toronto Community Housing staff played a key role in assisting with the investigation, as well as surveillance footage in the building.
